“Lace of Fate” - my photo exhibition in Kyiv Youth Library, Kyiv, 29.09.24 - November 2024
We invite you to the photo exhibition “Lace of Fate”, which will open on September 29, 2024 in the Kyiv Youth Library, in the reading room.
“Lace of Fate” is a photo exhibition of a Kyiv writer, musician, employee of this library, and since 2022, an officer of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Oleg Andros.
Oleg will present three series of photographs to your attention:
🌱 allegories - images of Moira in the post-apocalypse;
🌱classic female portraits and girls inscribed in an atmospheric landscape;
🌱 experimental photos with fluorescent paint, when all the “special effects” are analog, not computer-generated.
Images of the Greek goddesses of fate Moira (in the in the ancient Roman tradition of the Parka) is Oleg's first experience with images processed by artificial intelligence. The author does not generate completely artificial shots (which has become a trend in 2023), but likes to play with light and background.
The exhibition will also feature works by Anastasia Salmina, a former Kyiv poet and AI-artmaker.
Nastia's works are the result of her evolution from classical photography and fantasy stylistics (she is the heroine of many art photo shoots) to the generation of photos by artificial intelligence. In 2023-2024, this new technology will allow artists to create paintings by setting key styles and describing what what should be in the photo, which is called “syntography”. If you prescribe a rather complex set of styles, the author conveys his idea as clearly as possible.
Nastia's photographs are about the modern world: war, propaganda, the rise of totalitarianism, even the habit of Ukrainians from the time of the full-scale invasion, such as “doom-scrolling” on social networks. But also about the beauty of the world.
We are waiting for you at the opening! After the opening, the exhibition in the reading room will be open for two months.
